Message 1990 to 1994 fuel injectors have thinner gauge coil wires.
1995 fuel injectors have thicker gauge coil wires.

1990 to 1994 have 2.21 square inches of surface area exposed to fuel for potential cooling.
1990 to 1994 have 2.06 square inches of surface area exposed to the intake runner for heat soaking.

1995+ have 2.88 square inches of surface area exposed to fuel for potential cooling.
1995+ have 1.09 square inches of surface area exposed to the intake runner for heat soaking.

in summary,
1995+ fuel injectors have 25% more surface area to take advantage of using fuel to cool the injector body.
1995+ fuel injectors have 89% LESS surface area exposed to the hot intake tract.

if you look into the possibilities of heat soaking, you can see that the 1995 fuel injectors have a distinct advantage over 1990 fuel injectors.

this dialog does not directly address the 555cc/min injector failure issue (i too have suffered three failures within one month of installation). this is simply food for thought through my past research.
